Property Verification Policy
This policy explains the scope of Gharvanta's property-document review. It is designed to improve marketplace transparency without representing Gharvanta as a government title-certification authority.
What Gharvanta is trying to establish
For a property listing, Gharvanta may review whether the seller's stated property information is reasonably consistent with the property records and supporting documents submitted or otherwise lawfully checked. The exact scope depends on the property, location, transaction type and records available.
Documents that may be relevant
What Gharvanta does not use as ownership proof
- Aadhaar or PAN alone does not establish ownership of a property.
- Police or background verification does not establish property ownership.
- A seller declaration alone does not establish legal title.
Gharvanta therefore keeps seller-role verification and property ownership verification as separate checks.
Personal identity documents
Gharvanta's current verification model does not require sellers to upload full Aadhaar or PAN copies as a default step. If an authorised identity-verification method is introduced later, it will be implemented separately with the applicable legal, consent, security and data-minimisation controls.
Background / police verification
Gharvanta may consider a lawful third-party seller background or police/antecedent verification service in the future. Any such result would be treated as an additional seller-background signal only. It would not be represented as proof of ownership, clear title or absence of disputes.
Review outcomes
Gharvanta uses three review-status descriptions within the scope stated by this policy:
Buyer due diligence remains essential
Buyers should independently verify original documents, ownership/title, revenue records, land-use permissions, encumbrances, disputes, taxes, measurements and transaction requirements with appropriate professionals and authorities before paying money or entering into a transaction.
